Billericay Teaching School Alliance

About Me

As Director of Billericay Teaching Alliance, I feel immensely privileged that through working with schools across all phases of education, and with an increasingly wide number of other organisations across the area, together we can make a significant difference to both our pupils and colleagues.

In 1992, having served 9 years as a musician in the Armed Forces I handed in my kit bag and began a career as a Secondary music teacher at The Park School in Rayleigh. In 1998 I became Director of Music and Performance at The Deanes School, subsequently becoming an Advanced Skills Teacher (AST), and joining SLT with responsibilities related to ITT/NQT and Staff Development. I served as an AST for 10 years, conducting outreach work across all phases, during which time I joined SLT at The Billericay School.

The alliance prides itself on being in a position to create opportunities, ‘Unlocking Potential’, charged with inspiring a ‘love of learning’. It is an honour to be working closely with talented leaders across our Strategy Groups, wider networks, and other organisations. As part of a wider team, working collaboratively we have a wonderful opportunity to have a significant impact on our local educational landscape.
