Billericay Teaching School Alliance

About Me

I was appointed director of Billericay Teaching School Alliance (Billericay TSA) in November 2012. I feel immensely privileged to be in this position where, through working with schools across all phases of education, and with an increasingly wide number of other organisations across the area, together we can make a significant difference to both our pupils and colleagues.

In 1992, having served 9 years as a musician in the Armed Forces I handed in my kit bag and began a career as a Secondary music teacher at The Park School in Rayleigh. In 1998 I became Director of Music and Performance at The Deanes School, subsequently becoming an Advanced Skills Teacher (AST), and joining SLT with responsibilities related to ITT/NQT and Staff Development. I served as an AST for 10 years, conducting outreach work across all phases, during which time I joined SLT at The Billericay School.

The alliance prides itself on being in a position to create opportunities, ‘Unlocking Potential’, charged with inspiring a ‘love of learning’. It is an honour to be working closely with talented leaders across our Strategy Groups, wider networks, and other organisations. As part of a wider team, working collaboratively we have a wonderful opportunity to have a significant impact on our local educational landscape. I am of the great belief that the Teaching School Alliance agenda is fundamental in bringing about sustainable change within a School Led Self Improving System.
