About Me

I started my career in primary education in 2001 at a school in Collier Row. I have led science, More Able Gifted & Talented and Art as a middle leader before moving to an SLT post in Wickford where I led Literacy. I was part of the team that led the school from Good to Outstanding in 2007. I joined South Green Junior School in September 2012 as Deputy Head and Literacy Lead; taking on the role of Acting Head in September 2014 and successfully gaining the substansive headship in March 2015. South Green retained its Ofsted ‘Good’ rating in its November 2016 inspection, where development of leadership and the work completed in improving teaching and learning were recognised by HMI. I enjoy strategic planning, leading change for improvement and strengthening teaching and learning. I have supported teachers and other leaders throughout my career and have a passion for developing others both within my own school and through outreach work.

I specialise in the following areas:

  • Mentoring New Head teachers
  • Leadership development (at all levels)
  • Pupil Premium reviews
  • Effective self-evaluation and use of data to drive improvement
  • Curriculum development
  • Improving teaching & learning (including Talk 4 Writing strategies)
  • Improving whole school behaviour management
