Entering your NQT year is an exciting experience. These training sessions have has been designed for Primary NQTs (currently in their first year after NQT Induction). They cover an essential range of areas enabling NQTs to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding and strive to be an Outstanding teacher.  They include Joint Practice Development Networking focussing on all the Teachers’ Standards, reflecting and sharing best practice. All areas covered are immediately applicable to classroom practice and raising attainment. All sessions will be facilitated by experienced teaching professionals including Specialists Leaders of Education and National Leaders of Education.

Area 1 Developing Resilience and Self Management, Dealing with Difficult Situations 

Date: 27 September 2017 (1.30pm-4.30pm)

Venue: Training & Development Suite, The Bromfords School, Wickford, SS12 0LZ

The following will be explored during the session:

  • To develop confidence in meeting the challenges of communicating effectively with parents including having difficult conversations
  • To develop strategies to deal with work life balance
  • Developing team work skills to enable you to make a positive contribution to the life of the school

Session Cost: £50.00 (TSA Members £45)

Area 2 SEND – Maximising progress and achievement

Part 1 – Managing Needs – 15 November 2017 (1.30pm-4.30pm)

Venue: Training & Development Suite, The Bromfords School, Wickford, SS12 0LZ

Part 2 – Use of other adults to maximise Progress – 29 November 2016 (1.30pm-4.30pm)

Venue: Training & Development Suite, The Bromfords School, Wickford, SS12 0LZ

The following are explored over both sessions:

  • Practical ideas and resources for supporting a range of needs in the classroom
  • Where and how to access help and support for pupils
  • Making the Most of other adults within the classroom

Cost for both sessions – £100 (TSA Members £90)

Area 3 Data and Tracking Groups – ‘Closing the Gap’.  

Part 1: 17 January 2018 (1.30pm-4.30pm)         Part 2: 13 June 2018 (1.30pm-4.30pm)

Venue: Training & Development Suite, The Bromfords School, Wickford, SS12 0LZ         

The following are explored over both sessions:

  • Know about a range of school data sources available to teachers
  • Identify attainment gaps and target intervention strategies to maximise pupil progress
  • NQTs will undertake a Closing the Gap Project

Cost for both sessions – £100 (TSA Members £90)

Area 4 The Art of Effective Questioning

Date: 28 February 2018 (1.30pm-4.30pm)

Venue: Training & Development Suite, The Bromfords School, Wickford, SS12 0LZ

The following will be explored during the session:

  • Ensuring inclusion and Engagement through appropriate and high Challenge, maximising progress and Impact
  • How to use Questioning as an effective method to enhance progress and develop pupil ownership of Learning
  • Deepening Thinking, and Role-Modelling learning processes and behaviours for Impact
  • Providing stretch and challenge for all

Session Cost: £50.00 (TSA Members £45)

Area 5 Stepping Into Subject Leadership

Date: 27 June 2018 (9.00am-3.30pm)

Venue: Training & Development Suite, The Bromfords School, Wickford, SS12 0LZ

Delegates will increase their knowledge, skills and understanding of the fundamental principles which underpin Subject Leadership. They will develop an increased understanding of the varying roles of the Subject Leader and be more confident to undertake a wide range of aspects presented.

The following will be explored during the session:

  • Compiling an effective subject leader file
  • Subject self-evaluation skills
  • Sources of evidence
  • Data analysis to inform subject development
  • Action planning to inform subject development

Session Cost: £95.00 (TSA Members £86)
