Unlocking Potential through R & D Sharing Event - Great Success!
On 4th March 15, The Billericay School hosted the Unlocking Potential through Research & Development Sharing Event which was a collaborative event managed by Teaching Schools from Billericay, Thurrock, Rayleigh and Southend. Each TSA invited guest Action Researchers (ARs) along to share their R&D projects and results with approximately 100 Leaders and Teachers from schools within the Essex area. There were presentation given from guest speakers, one of which was from Educational Researcher Janet Dyson who shared why schools would benefit from engaging in Action Research.
During the evening the atmosphere was very positive with ARs and delegates engaged in meaningful conversations around the projects and their impact. ARs confirmed that they had exchanged contact details with delegates with a view to discussing the projects further.
We would like to thank all of our wonderful Action Researchers (including Royal Opera House Bridge and Anglian Ruskin University) and delegates for coming along and supporting the event.
The event was considered incredibly successful in highlighting the effectiveness of this key strand of the Teaching School Alliance agenda. A quote from one Action Researcher ‘Great event, so good to see so many colleagues interested in research and the teaching school alliances putting their weight behind linking research and practice’.
